Android 5.0 aka Jelly Bean to Launch in Q2 2012 ?

by VISHAL GAIKAR - on Feb 17th 2012 - No Comments

DigiTimes is hardly the most reliable source, they often said that information proved false.Nevertheless, it remains interesting to talk about the next major update of Android,  Android 5.0 aka Jelly Bean which we do not know much.

The version of Android 4.0 aka Ice Cream Sandwich, available since November 2011, was used primarily to unify the development of smartphone interfaces, tablet, television connected and embedded system. An important step in the evolution of eco-system, Google took the opportunity to get rid of physical buttons that were mandatory in previous versions and introduced a much more complete interface than the last.

With  Android 5.0 aka Jelly Bean, Google could improve “tablet” and T.V experience. Information quite likely, Eric Schmidt announced a tablet “quality” would be announced during the first half of 2012, a Tablet Phone. This could be a standard model, as the Nexus range.

According to the Taiwanese source:

Android 5.0 will be further optimized for tablet PCs, while Google will also integrate its Chrome system functions to push dual-operating system designs. Brand vendors can either choose to adopt only Android 5.0 or add Android 5.0 to Windows 8 devices with the ability to switch between the two OSes without the need to shut down the computer.

Other information less likely, Google would prepare a dual-boot system to accommodate on a tablet, Android 5.0 and Windows 8.  Google could therefore anticipate the arrival of Windows 8 on the shelves, Microsoft really wish to land in the market for tablet interface and compatibility ARM Metro.

In short, as I have said, DigiTimes sources are not the most reliable but it allows us to reflect on further developments of Android. Google has used at frequencies of updates very short. Google 4.0 was announced in October 2011, Google 5.0 could be announced this summer, less than 12 months between two major versions of Android. What worries give to builders who have a hard time updating their latest models of smartphones and tablets.

Only Motorola Xoom and the Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime had the right to update their Ice Cream Sandwich. It’s painful, I know. I think Google will include Chrome OS elements in Jelly Bean and there is no other details available about this and we have to wait and watch. Being android will bring more news about Android Jelly Bean, stay tuned.

iPhone 4S Vs Samsung Galaxy S2

by Brianne - on Feb 14th 2012 - No Comments

Samsung Galaxy S2 has been known as one of the best smart phone and ranked as best smart phone from the lists of top ranked smart phones. Most of the top level manufactures present in global market failed to create device similar to Samsung Galaxy SII, even Apples iPhone 4. Perhaps makers of Samsung Galaxy S2 thought that they are unreachable, but that was only a myth. Soon apple launched iPhone 4S with a number of updated apps and feature.

In acquiring most of the global electronic market both of the products are compared with there features and apps. Following are some sincere differences of there features and specs.

Design

GalaxySII

We all know that design is a matter of taste. Different people have different taste for design. Some people goes for heavy and huge devices while other prefer light and tiny phones. So in such case we can’t predict for better one. Samsung Galaxy SII is a tiny phone ( 4.3-inch display, 8.49mm slim, 116g light weighted). On the other hand, the design of Apples iPhone 4S is same as its predecessor but it’s display (3.5 inches) smaller than the samsung i9200 galaxy s2 , but it’s not as thin as it. Samsung galaxy s2 release date was October 2011.

Processor

The Samsung Galaxy S2 comprises of a 1.2GHz dual-core ARM Cortex-A9 processor. This processor is responsible for faster performance. Specially in case of net surfing this phone brings out the best experience for internet users. In contrast the iPhone 4S has a 1GHz dual-core ARM Cortex-A9 processor, which is also very fast though it provides best graphic support, it fails over CPU of the Galaxy SII in terms of performance, so the winner is Samsung.

Camera

Samsung Galaxy S2 has a 8MP camera with auto focus technique and LED flash that takes photos up to 3264 x 2448 and videos up to 1080p at the rate of 30fps. On the other hand the new iPhone 4S has an 8MP camera and able to take 3264 x 2448 pictures like the Galaxy S2. And of course, it shoots 1080p HD videos. They’re both equally good, so we have a draw here.

Platform

On comparing both phone based on there platform Samsung Galaxy S2 having android OS is the most popular platform at the moment, android is famous for easy to customization and for carrying huge number of apps in Android Market. On the other hand, Apple’s iOS is really easy to use even if the iPhone is your first smart phone ever, but of course it’s not what makes the new iPhone 4S special.

Must Read :

Its new program SIRI (you’ve probably already heard about Siri) this program is specially designed to help the user give commands to the phone, ask questions and send text massages. Most of the people will buy the iPhone 4S especially for Siri. Since Android is becoming older say by day, so in this case winner is iPhone 4S for its Siri.

Price

Price of Samsung Galaxy S2 costs £397.99 on Amazon, while the iPhone 4S having 16GB memory is much more expensive i.e. £593.15. However it shouldn’t forget that iPhone 4S was launched after the launching of Samsung Galaxy SII. So, apple will offer discount after some times. Samsung galaxy s2 price in India is near about ~30,000 Rs. I have collected this samsung galaxy s ii price in India through local cell phone retailer.

With considering above few features and apps a person can decide most appropriate smart phone for him/her.

LG X3: A New Quad-Core Android Smartphone On The Run!

by VISHAL GAIKAR - on Jan 21st 2012 - No Comments

If 2011 was the year of dual-core processors, 2012 will probably be the year of quad-cores. The race for power will never stop in the world of mobility. This growth shows that the sector is far from being at an impasse, but produces a very rapid obsolescence of the terminals. In 2011, the LG Optimus 2X was the first smartphone to have a dual-core processor: nVidia Tegra on 2. This year, the manufacturer could repeat the same thing, but with quad-core and the Tegra 3 via the LG X3.

Leaked Images of LG X3

LG X3 succumbed to the trend by offering an ever larger screen,  a 4.7-inch 720p display, an Nvidia Tegra 3 processor, an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera, a 1.3-megapixel forward-facing camera, 16 GB of built-in storage, and a MicroSD slot. The phone measures less than 0.35 inches thick, according to the leaked details.

Great news: Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) will be directly integrated. The manufacturer is a real bad boy in the field (the Optimus 2x received its upgrade to Gingerbread more than six months after its release!). In terms of design, it is noted that LG chose to retain its tactile keys. In terms of connectivity, we’re talking about up to 21 Mbps HSPA, LTE for the regions concerned, WiFi b / g / n and Bluetooth 4.0. The battery should be fairly comfortable with its 2000 mAh. Like the Galaxy Nexus, it could serve as a NFC transmitter.

A priori, this model should be announced next month at the Mobile World Congress, for release in spring or summer. This smartphone is in competition with the future Samsung Galaxy S III or HTC Edge / Endeavor. Expect the LG X3, by the end of Q2 this year.

Note that this application is only compatible with mobile devices which running the version of Android Ice Cream Sandwich. Whether it’s in alpha, beta or final, the compatibility of the application remain the same: only compatible with Android ICS and nothing else. A music player that offers interesting new features and aesthetics a little further: changing themes, shake the motive to change music listening, and several quick access links with a few other features to discover.
